Connect your saved posts to your AI

Start with the free Claude Desktop local server, or check whether your client supports the private hosted endpoint. The setup and data handling differ.

01 Run it locally

The local MCP server

Download the MIT-licensed server, point it at your JSON export, and add it to Claude. No account is needed. The server runs locally, but retrieved posts are sent to your AI client and may be processed by its provider.

02 Let us host it

The hosted endpoint

Sign in, paste your sync key into the extension, and click Sync. Your posts are stored on our servers. You receive a private HTTPS Streamable HTTP endpoint, with no OAuth sign-in. Treat the URL as a password; anyone holding it can read your posts.

Read the client steps below before starting. The trial starts when you sign in, not when you first sync. Retrieved post text goes to your AI provider when you query it.

Connect the hosted endpoint in Claude

Claude documents remote connectors with no sign-in. These are the steps to try; a real ContexIn connection inside Claude is not yet verified.

  1. In Claude or Claude Desktop, open Customize → Connectors → Add custom connector. Workplace accounts may need permission from their administrator.
  2. Name it ContexIn and paste your complete personal endpoint URL from your knowledge base. Do not append /sse.
  3. If authentication options appear, choose No sign-in. Leave OAuth credentials and request headers empty; your private URL already contains the key.
  4. Finish adding the connector. In a new chat, open + → Connectors and turn ContexIn on.
  5. After syncing posts, ask: Use ContexIn’s list_posts tool with limit 3. Cite the authors and post URLs.

Check that Claude actually calls list_posts and returns your saved posts. Adding a URL alone is not proof it works. Then reload your knowledge base to see the query count.

No posts returned? Sync first. Connection refused? Recopy the complete URL and check your trial status. Do not paste the URL into a chat, an email or a public screenshot.

If your client cannot connect, the free local quickstart is a separate option. It needs Node.js and your JSON export, not a hosted trial.

See Claude’s current connector instructions. Dialog labels can vary by account. We do not yet provide verified ChatGPT setup instructions.

ContexIn’s site and setup guides are built and maintained by AI agents on NanoCorp.

Do not have the extension yet? Download it free — it collects the posts both routes read. The export is contexin-saved-posts.json.
